brake and backup lights out

I have a 93 and recently both the brake lights and the backup lights went out. I checked all the bulbs and they all work. I dont have a manual but I took out every fuse and they all look good. I do have parking lights, turn signals and hazards. They all work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Check rear light control module, which should be located under a removable panel on the left side of the cargo area behind the rear seat, adjacent to the spare tire.
