Question Disable Service Engine Soon light

I have a 93 Grand Am, 3.3 liter automatic trans. Replaced Mass air flow sensor, knock sensor. Still get code 43 when weather is warm. When it's below freezing, the light doesn't come on, unless at low sped and RPM.
It won't stay off. Just comes on intermittently. Runs great. Smooth idle, good gas mileage. Any ideas?

Re: Disable Service Engine Soon light

its your IAT-Intake Air Temperature sensor. should be in the air intake after the MAF and before the TB. Also try disconecting your battery to clear that code on your 93.

Hey

The sensor may be bad the wire to the sensor might be the issue or the CPU might be causing the issue. I am having the same issue except it's on all the time.

Hey gravis2000,
Thanks for the info. I failed to mention that I also replaced one of the proms in the CPU. Also, the knock sensor must be torqued, which the guy did not do. He said he couldn't get a torque wrench up there. Good luck!

SO...HOW CAN I PERMANENTLY DISCONNECT THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT?

You are not supposed to do things like that. Ever hear of getting in hot water?
If you want if off you need to fix the problem.
But I have saw people put pictures of lady friends or family or even black tape over it where you can not see it.
