My heater blower stays on when car is off.

For the past week my heater blowing stay on when I turn the car off, and it drains my battery. I have to pull the fuse everytime I get out of my car, so the battery dosen't drain....Does anyone have any idea what is going on here.....Thank you

If you have a manual HVAC control system not digital climate, your blower motor resistor (BMR) is open which will cause the blower to constantly operate. The BMR is located in the lower part of the evaporative housing next to the blower motor under the passenger side of the dashboard. Blower motor must be removed to access it. Good luck!

Can I do this myself, or should I take it to a mechanic and pay an arm and a leg....Can you tell me what to do, so I can do it myself...It would be much apreciated.....Thank you for helping me with this problem.....I really hope you can explain it to me, I am pretty good with instruction....

It is definitely a DIY job but you will be laying on your back doing the work and looking up. Passenger side seat needs to be moved all the way back. 3 bolts hold the blower motor up into the HVAC housing. Once blower is removed BMR will be visible for removal. BTW - BMR will cost $25 - $50 depending where you buy it. I'd recommend staying with the improved AC Delco one from GM.

The AC-Delco part number is 15-80571, just for reference. We sell it for $20. The dealers get $38.

depending on year gm has a tech bulletin to replace resistor module and install capasitor, feed back from wipers takes out resistor
