Why would the passenger-side lock stop working after the window broke???
If ya'll didnt know already, my passenger side window broke. I just noticed this, but, the passenger side lock does not work, (I am not talking about the power switch button but the actual lever that you push to lock the door)...When I try to lock the lever shut it seems to close only halfway and the door does not lock, it can still be opened. This happened as soon as the window broke...Do you think that maybe a shard of glass is blocking the mechanism? Or maybe the window must be in place for the lock to work? Any help will be great!
THANKS!

Re: Why would the passenger-side lock stop working after the window broke???
the samething happend when someone broke into my lancer. when they replace my pass window, the next day i notice my door wouldn't lock. take the door pannel off and make sure the metal line from the switch to the to the lock is stiff. cuz if its out of place, the switch wont close all the way and line is to loose to push the lock close. there should be a little clip or something to hold the metal line tight inplace.
i hope this helps

Re: Why would the passenger-side lock stop working after the window broke???
The window probably fell on the lock and knocked something loose, check the lock like mentioned in the last post.

Re: Why would the passenger-side lock stop working after the window broke???
Bhanks for the help but, the metal line is real stiff. Even when I grab the line and pusk it in, it will only go like half way...it is like there is something blocking the meachanism or something.
Any other help is great! THANKS!

Re: Why would the passenger-side lock stop working after the window broke???
Well, thanks to the enormous amount of replies I received, a whole 2 answers, j/k, I fixed the problem...
Its like I thought, there where 3 pieces of glass blocking up the mechanism. All I did was dissemble the lock from the door, remove the glass rail, unhook, the wire harness clip, and just shake the glass loose. (Just for future reference)!!
