Question test pipes

i just had a few questions about test pipes i wanted to ask
1. am i going to loose any bottom end, cus thats what im thinking.
2. is the pipe going to give me more of a rice sound or a v8 sound?
3. better or worse on the gas milage?
4.would you recomend gutting or keeping the cat with a test pipe?
5.is there really and hp or torque gain?

any other info would also be greatly apprciated..and for you guys that already have them id love to hear what your oppinion on it is after you instaled them compared to before

and id like you guys to poll weather you think i should get it or not...and thanx for your help

Re: test pipes

A test pipe eliminates your cats, so it might free up some horses and a lil bit of gas mileage... as for the sound, I think it might be a bit deeper, but I'm not sure... you could gut your cat for cheaper, and it'll pretty much give you the same perfomance rating etc... however I'm against this, and if I were you, I'd buy a high flow cat...

1. No
2. Deeper sounds not really V8ish and not rice
3. Better
4. Test pipe
5. Yes there is a gain. I knocked .25 off my quarter mile time with a test pipe alone.

Re: test pipes

yeap, you don't pass, so either buy a high flow cat, or when emmissions time comes around bolt your cat on, take the emissions, and than after you pass bolt the test pipe back up... I'd get a high flow cat though, some of the ones I've seen are guarenteed for a long ass time...
