Re: Worlds wildest police videos

If every driver got away, then it would encourage drivers to run from the law, clearly not what the police have in mind when they submit these tapes.

I used to watch it, but then I got tired of his stupid comments.

Re: Worlds wildest police videos

meh, it's the only almost exciting car chase program we get here in the UK without paying for cable tv. so i live with it.

one day you'll turn on "america's dumbest criminals" and it'll just show various clips of george bush.

Re: Worlds wildest police videos

How about turning the sound completely off and adding your own commentary?

"...the desperate suspect approaches the busy 4 way intersection at a blistering 15 mph and narrowly avoids a busload of innocent newborn infant nuns by a mere 30 feet....nearby a ricer in a red Civic throws some revs and attempts to goad him into a VTAK shootout with the police...."

Re: Worlds wildest police videos

you know what pisses me off the most with that?

"the car leaps into high gear...."

no, it doesn't that's a total lie, the driver shifts it into higher gear, or the auto box does, i can't recall any cars "leaping" into high gear. what's more he says it all the time.

"the teenage drive overtakes an eighteen-wheeler at an mind blowing thrity-two miles an hour. suddenly the stolen M3 leaps into high gear. accelerating to a heart-stopping forty-five miles per hour, the bavarian-built hot-rod weaves furiously among the non-existant vehicles on the empty highway. in order to stop the wreckless criminal the deputy initiates the persuit intervention technique, also known as the PIT manouvre. the bavarian sports car spins out of control, sliding dangerously towards the guardrail at an mind-boggling twenty-two miles per hour. he smashes into the galvanized railings, scrachting the paint and denting the rear quarter panel of the german coupé. deputies from jefferson county rush out and apprehend the thief, you has shown no concern or regard for the other road users."

cue to deputy - "yes, i've seen this many times before, however this was slightly different, the driver peaked at forty-five miles per hour, a truly dangerous speed, i could barely keep up. luckily we stopped him before he did anything more dangerous."

wow, forty-five miles per hour, that's something else...

Re: Worlds wildest police videos

i wish they'd show a video of "the people that got away"... but that would enstill more confidence in the public, and show how slow the "police interceptors" really are. just my $.02

Re: Worlds wildest police videos

We all know "Cops" tv show is a joke. I watch it for 5 minutes if I am bored. Drama sells, period. The truth is, people DO get away, they just don't show it. The fake squealing tires and the commentary are good for laughs and that's about it.

You have to remember that most of the TV audience have a low intelligence, and that television is, for the most part, targeted to those people.
