Frustrated! Finally found a salvage yard that had a 93 Escort with the Instrument cluster dimmer switch and I got it. After installing the switch it resulted in no change. All the dash lights (for night driving) work (Heat/AC, Stereo, Auto Shifter, Defroster) but, the lights for speedo, gas, and temp don't light. I was told it was the dimmer switch. Any one have any thoughts? It's tough to drive at night when you can't see if you have gas or how fast your going not that I can go that fast it's an escort!!!).

Have you put in new bulbs?

Re: Instrument Panel Lights Out
I have not got that far but was informed that these bulbs rarely burn out and that this more than likely was the dimmer switch. Is there an easy access to the bulbs, or do you need to take apart the instrument cluster? Thanks!

Re: Instrument Panel Lights Out
Do your tail lights work? Do you have power going to the dimmer switch?

Those lights do burn out often, and you have to take the gauge cluster out to change them

I've had at least two of mine burn out.
