4.3 to Boat

I have a 4.3 TBI from a 93 S10 and a ECM from a 91. I want to put it in a boat. What is the minimum I will need to hook up to the ECM to run it? How can I get a map of the connector pins on the ECM so I will know what to connect to which pin?

Re: 4.3 to Boat

do you have access to either one of the trucks for a wiring harness? get that and it will go alot simpler. do you have the whole engine(including sensors and wiring)?
what do you have in the boat now?

I do not have either vehicle. When I know what I'll need, I plan to go to a junk yard and get some wiring components (terminals) and any other sensors needed.
I have the engine, intake with TBI and throttle position sensor, distributor, coil, EGR, exhaust manifolds, water pump and fan.
The boat is a 1962 Glastron with a 4 cylinder Mercruiser I/O.

Actually, I plan to make this an onboard cooling system, with a radiator. I don't even want to use overboard water for exhaust manifold cooling.

What does that mean, open loop? Won't it look at the oxygen sensor and the throttle position sensor and control mixture from those?

Do they make water jacket headers for a 4.3?

Yes, but I'm not going to go that route. I'm going to do a dry exhaust, with good insulation and air circulation across the manifolds. I do not want to use overboard water for anything.

Re: 4.3 to Boat

if i'm not mistaken, the 4.3 in particular reads the o2's, coolant temp, intake air and so on for transition from open loop to closed loop. as for wiring diagrams and pin-outs for the ecm, might have to get the factory service manual for that year....or if you know someone with a subsrciption to alldata or mitchell on demand and so on. Best of luck with that transfer, sounds as if it will be a screamer.
