I have a 2002 Sebring Conv.
I just changed the trans filter (70,000) miles and now I have a very harsh downshift into first gear. (No problems before the trans service). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, C.J. |

Re: Harsh downshift
well i own a 1999 JXI convert and mine does sometimes(Once every 2-3 weeks?) do that as well. I have heard that is a almost normal chrysler thing once the cars/transmissions get older so i dont worry about it. Unless urs is doing it regularly,i wouldnt really worry about it.

I used Dextron/Mercon like I have done for years with Chrysler vehicles but apparently in 1999, Chrysler made a change that requires a synthetic fluid ATF+4. Using anything else will cause a harsh downshift. |
