Sounds like the linkage. Could be near the shifter itself, or the connection at the tranny. |

take a look at the picture on the following site...
http://www.slhondaparts.com/browse.a...ViewParts=true This image is for a 99 Civic but I think your linkage should be similar. Anyways, the first thing to check, which is the easiest is to take a look under the shifter boot. Basically, you are checking to see the lever (item number 2) is indeed connected to the linkage arms. (number 12 and 13) If they are, then check the other end at the transmission. The arms should be attached to the transmission. The following site has the image of the transmission connection. http://www.slhondaparts.com/browse.a...ViewParts=true I would think that it is within the linkage connection. I really doubt that it is something in the transmission. Check these and see what happens. |

know way to tell you without lookin at it. just fill her up and hope nothing internally was damaged. may have got some metal to metal contact from not enough lubircation from fluid. But just fill her up and see what happens. But if you can move shifter into other gears with out tranny engaging than it sounds like shift linkage related as mentioned B4.

Wow, sorry to hear about that. Still did you check the linkage? If it is all connected, then, I hate to say, it could be inside the transmission. Probably shift fork related... see this pic.
Once again, check all the exterior linkage first, if they look okay, then assume the worst. Sorry about that. |
