3rd gen brake questions.

are there big brake upgrade kits for the 3rd gen? and also if i change to a 12 bolt rear end will the back upgrade kit still fit? im looking for disks, 13 inch dia. roators, cross drilled and slotted. and like 6 piston calipers for the front and like 4 piston calipers for the rear.

any info will be great.

I know Baer makes a few different kits, pricey though.

Re: 3rd gen brake questions.

I hear ya on that. Thats why i'm taking care of my suspension and stuff, rather than looking for power right now. Just gonna get some basic affordable stuff for now, later i'll get the expensive good shit!!!!!!

Re: 3rd gen brake questions.

I believe 3rd gens handle alot better than 4th gens. Plus, if you got 3rd gen route, definitely try to get an Lb9 (305 tpi) or L98 (350tpi). They are good strong motors, can be fast with little money.

Re: 3rd gen brake questions.

i think 4th gens handle better..the steering in my 4th gens feels so much stiffer and better than my 3rd gens....just my opinion

Re: 3rd gen brake questions.

Tuned anyway. My suspension has been unattended to for God only knows how many years, my grandmas corolla handles better than it.

Re: 3rd gen brake questions.

You should see the tires on my IROC. All i have to say is 18 years old. Suspension seems to be all original too, except for the 2 bilsteins in the back, which died anyways. Bushings are all hell, it's a very uncomfortable ride. It's like riding an ATV on a rock terrain, but i'll still love to drive it. One time when i came out of a gas station, i hammer the loud pedal and hit a small decline in the road, when i recovered, the my whole exhaust system hit the ground. All spring, no shock. Gonna fix that problem soon.

Re: 3rd gen brake questions.

Bag91, you couldn't have said it any better. That's exactly what it feels like, a bouncy ball. I can't wait to ride in that thing with new rotors, brakes, calipers, shocks, springs, strut tower bar, adjustable panhard, tubular LCA's, poly bushing kit, new tires, and finally, 4 rims that rotate insync. She should run like a dream!!!!
