Update on me... and D-series transmission questions...
Hey guyz. As some of you may already know, I've had lot's of bad luck with my car in the past several months. My engine blew... had to buy a DX block... someone broke into my car and got SO CLOSE to stealing it... and now my transmission is going out.
Luckily (for once!), I found a guy in Oregon from Dancing Crab Racing who has a D-series tranny for me. It's got only 60,000 miles on it, has all syncros, no cracks in the caseing, clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel and he'll give it to me for 75 bucks! Only problem is he lives 3 hours away and I gotta go pick it up. Do you know how much that sucker should weigh? Also... what's the usual price of a used tranny... like 300-400, right? I guess I'm getting a hell of a deal. But on another REALLY positive note... I picked up a brand new Injen cold air intake for my car last week for only 80 bucks! All the pieces were still individually wrapped and stored in foam in the box. I had originally planned on buying stainless steel headers from the guy also (because he only wanted another 100 bucks for it) but I couldn't come up with the money on time... someone else bought it. But it's cool... I still got the intake that usually sells for like $175 retail. I had a blast installing it too (seriously) and it looks really trick... much better than the short one I used to have. The only pain of the whole process was fishing the resonator box out of the bumper. ~Chris

Hey Chris its Chad again. Try that Honda junkyard on 112 st. by mcchord afb. Some times they have good things. P.S. I see a lot of imports at one of those old used car places on Pacific Ave. by the vetranarian office acrossed they street. Any ideas on whats going on up there?

trannies aren't that heavy....I can pick it up and move it around myself without much trouble. for $75, I would jump on that quick. Good luck.

I dunno Chad... I'll have to drive by sometime.
By the way... U-Fix-It wants 300 bucks for a tranny and a 2 year warranty on it. Not too bad... but I think I'll be going to Oregon this Saturday.

Good luck Chris be sure to get some kind of reciept from them. I drove past that place today its right next to hub cap city and that new Chevron up there. Let me know how it turns out

Got the transmission today. After 6 hours, I'm now home with a good lookin' tranny. Payed 75 bucks. GhettoLegs = tired but happy.
