Differential
I have an 89 mazda 2600i and my rear differential broke. (the carrier, spider gears, well i guess everything broke.) I believe that it is a ford 8" rear end but i am not sure. could anybody tell me what it is and if there is a differential that I could use instead of it.
Thanks |

Re: Differential
It's like a 7 3/4" and its build like a Ford 9" I dont' know of anything that swaps in and the only things I know of to modify it with are from other trucks and involves completly dissassembling the differential and rebuilding it. I've never heard of one breaking unless it has been neglected, even with a V8 swap.

Re: Differential
If you find a replacement or get something to work let me know!! I looking to change my rear end too.. I just dropped a 350 smallblock in my 86', I'm sure you know, b2000 doesn't have posi. The one wheel peel just isn't cool if you know what I mean!!
Good luck! |

Re: Differential
Don't break it loose to much with that V8 behind it until you get posi or a different rear end. When the differential action kicks in and one tire completly stops and the other tire gets all the power it spinning twice the speed as if both where. Do it to much and you'll blow the rear end.
