An open letter to Ford Australia and the Ford V8 Supercar teams.

I am writing this letter out of frustration with the abysmal efforts of the Falcon V8 Supercar teams. In particular the Ford sponsered teams Gibson Motorsport and Ford Credit Racing Team and Ford Australia itself.

I am not alone when I say how dissapointed I am once again after watching the latest V8 Supercar round from Canberra. You people collectively carry the flag for Ford fans like me and I am sick of making excuses for you when I cop a ribbing from friends and aquaintences about the latest loss at the track.

It is not a matter of throwing more money at it as you have great drivers and a great product to work with. It appears to be a management and engineering problem......even I can see that!

I dont expect you to answer my letter but I do expect you to get off your asses and solve this problem otherwise people like me will no longer support V8 Supercar racing and it will become Commadore racing (Boring). I am not asking you guys to win every race but this season has been pathetic, you have to agree.

I am reverting back to my old excuse for the losses: "Ford only made decent cars before 1973". I dont really beleive this but thats what I will be saying.

Ford=shitbox. And for that matter, Holden=shitbox. When an Australian car company can truly compete with several well establshed Japanese and German brands on the basis of reliability, safety, handling, technology and innovation, maybe I'll look again, but until then, give me anything else.

Cosworth Sierras until they got blown off the mountain by the Skylines.

I gave up on the whole V8 thing years ago - it's boring.

There was a time when I'd watch the ATCC and see Longhurst dicing the BMW at the front of the grid as well as the other interesting makes. Now it's boring and one of the two marques is a lame duck.
