gas in oil

I am smelling gas on my dip stick and truck in running rich, also were is the oil sending sensor on the motor

Id like to help as best i can but not sure what the specs on the vehicle are, to help yah find your sensor location.

If you have the 96- and up 4.3L its on the back of the Block, near the center close to the Distributor.

Not sure for the 94-95 CMFI, maybee someone else has an idea.

Just need a little more info as too any symptoms you may have noticed the last few days...hesitant, bad gas mileage that kinda thing..let us know

very bad gas mileage , On start up fast idle just got the truck 3 weeks ago needs lot of work thank ya for all the help so far

sORRY ABOUT THAT tHE TRUCK IS A 94 4.3L CPI Vortec

gas changes the vascosity of oil, if the two have mixed, the bearings are washed and the moter is, im sorry to say, trashed, time for a full removale and rebuild, hot tank the block and all, or a new moter...

I'd have to vote on a bad CPI/Nut kit. You're dumping fuel into the crank case. The big problem with this is that if continue without fixing it, you're going to clean the cylinder walls as well as kill your crank bearings.
