Warning lights

I dunno if anyone on here is an expert on electonics? but the temperature warning light keeps going on and the gauge goes up. I've called the AA a few times and they say there's nothing wrong. It goes on as soon as I turn the car on. It stopped for a while when i replaced the speedo and rev counter gauge but it's just started again? Anyone got any Ideas what's wrong?

Thanks David

Re: Warning lights

I don't now if this is any help but I just got my gti with the water temperature light flashing. It turned out that it had air locked in the water system this was stopping the water from circulating properly and causing the water around the engine to get hot but not the water in the radiator. Once all the air was out the light went of and the temperature leveled out.
