1995 Sunfire GT won't start

I'm having a problem with my car. Sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't start. It's a 1995 Sunfire GT 2.3L Automatic. It has 250k on the motor. The fuel pump seems to be working by all indications. I've noticed that the THEFT SYSTEM light came on while driving a few times before the problem started. I had to crank the engine 4 times yesterday before it would start, then my girlfriend drove it to work and it would not start on her way home. She told me that it's happened before on her way home at night, with it just starting out as having to crank it twice to start. Now she says it progressively gotten harder to start, having to crank it more and more each time she drives it. It's on it's third ignition module now, and I'm thinking it's either the anti-theft system or another module. Any ideas???

Your problem is the antitheft system for sure. Take it to the dealer and have the system disabled, as this is the only way to be sure that the problem will not continue. This system is total junk just ask the Grand Am folks.

I searched the forums on here and followed the instructions you gave ngooo on resetting the security system but no luck. I sat in the car for 40 minutes tonight did the 10 minutes on, then 10 secs off and repeat 3 times but it didn't work. And to top it all off when I went outside I found that someone had broken into my car earlier today. I guess my only option is to get it towed to a dealer and have them deactivate the security system?

You have Passlock 1. If you can get your car started again you can have someone other than a dealership perform the following modification with an On/Off switch. You can only do this if you can get your car started without any security light on though. Check out this thread from the Malibu section.

Just got the car back today from the garage. Turns out it was the Body Control Module, moisture had worked it's way inside and rusted the whole thing out. Thanks for the help guys and hopefully this will be the last of my problems with it.
