Unhappy Please Help, Bad ECM?, 94' Ram Van 3.9 Litre

Hello all,

The vehicle: 1994 Dodge Ram Van with the 3.9 Litre Engine with 105,000 miles.

This is my elderly father-in-laws van and here's the story. Before the van broke down, it seemed to not be running up to par (not as peppy as usual).

Now the van only cranks over, no starting. My father inlaw told me that before it got to this point, you could turn the ignition to the run position and wait a few minutes and you would eventually here a clicking sound that seemed to move around the vehicle and then stop, at this point you could turn ignition to off position and then try to start again and van would fire right up.

Now the van will only crank.

What has been done so far:
The coil has been replaced, no change.
The pick-up coil (in distributor) has been replaced, no change.
The ASD relay has been replaced, no change.
The fuel pump does not prime the injectors when first turning ignition key on, was able to jumper fuel pump wire at ASD relay and pump would run as long as contact was made with jumper, pressure was checked with gauge at 40 p.s.i. and held pressure overnight.
The "check engine" light does not light at all when turning key on.
Hooked up a Code Reader to ECM and only got the message "waiting for vehicle to respond" from Code Reader.
Red wire in PCM connector has voltage, so I'm assuming ECM has voltage.
Vehicle battery is fully charged, van will crank like crazy.

Is the ECM bad? Is there anyway to check it? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give. I've been all over the web and this forum and can't seem to find the info I need. Thanks again.

Check the connections at the ECM and especially any ground wires that come off of it or the wiring harness. You can get a rebuilt at any auto parts store or try a used one from www.car-part.com

Both power feeds and all 3 grounds at ECM are good. Time to go shopping.
