Increase intake and exhaust flow

I have a 99 burb with 5.7 engine.I am looking for suggestions on products that would help to increase the air intake and the exhaust flow.I presently have the stock OEM system.I'm hoping that with improvements in these two areas,it should help performance and fuel economy. Thanks for the help.

Re: Increase intake and exhaust flow

You might get a little more performance out of it.
But performance and fuel economy do not go together.
If you want more performance a PCM chip/reflash or programer may give you more pep.

I'm thinking that if the engine breathes a little easier with less restriction,it should help with prefomance and economy.

Re: Increase intake and exhaust flow

A suburban is not a good performance vehicle.
And is already set up for the best performance and economy balance you can get.
Now if you are looking for performance more intake may or may not help.
One thing leads to another more air in and you will need more air out.
Then you will want more air in like a super charger then you will want more air out and more noise out the tail pipe and more compression and more cam.
Big bucks and your economy will go to pot.
It is up to you.
Personaly I would just go for a chip or pcm program or programer.
And remember more power does not go with more economy.
The more horses you have the more fuel they are going to eat up.
And do not believe the tales about cold air intakes giving better gas mileage.
Good luck
