4L60E or 4L80E

Does anyone know which of the above transmissions would be in a 2005 silvy ext cab 1500 4x4 with a 5.3L?

4L65E was designed for the LS6 405 HP Corvette. Have never seen one in a 2005 5.3 truck. Don't believe it was offered.

Could have put one in SS 6L. Not sure.

Its late, I can't remember too well but I think the 2006 Vortec-Max may have the 4L65E.

Just though of something. The RPO code for the 4L60E is M30 and should be on the sticker in your glove box. I looked up the RPO code for the SS and it is M32. I havn't found out what an M32 is yet.

Allright just broke the code. The 4L65E RPO code is M32. Thats what is in the 6L SS and The 6L GMC Denali.

Also the Vortec-Max has an M70=4L70E. and there is a NM8= 4L85E for heavy duty in 2006.

Have a great new year.

Thats probably because you have a 6L. Acording to the GM rpo codes no 5.3 came with an M32. I guess any thing can end up in any thing. And there are two m32s. One a heavy duty 4L60E and a4l65E. Who knows what these were in.

Have a great new year.

I agree, you never know for sure what will be in them until you have them...

Happy New Year!
