XFI ECM interchangability
My experience is pre-92 models MUST correspond to actual model year. 1992-1994 model year computers are interchangable.
I put a 1994 XFI ECM into my 1993 convertible and my mileage went from average 44hwy to 48.79. Gain of about 10%. No promises, no guarentees. Just my experience. |

Well the saving is in reduced weight and the fact that the XFI engine has only one compression ring instead of two on regular engine hence less friction and higher mileage but I wish you happy ECM ownership.

XFi also has a more lean fuel map. It will pre-maturely burn valves out of a regular metro engine because of their higher compression and more agressive cam and cam timing,
