1969 Camaro Convertible Project

hello. now in Japan, 2006 will come after 1 hour. we gonna celebrate!!

heres my latest progress. 69 camaro. everyone says this is the best kit of 69. I finally got this kit for 10 bucks. it is lucky to purchase a US made kit in japan for 10$. usually, it's 20-30$ around.
I like 69 Camaro better than any car all over the world. so I'm verry grad to buy this kit, and I wanna add this best 69 model to my collection. I'm gonna make this factory stock with a few mods.(maybe rims only)
body color will Tuxedo Black, Cortez Silver or LeMans Blue with White or black interior.

I'm trying to datail up front seats. once, cut out a headrest and put into place again after sanding and fixing. left side normal, right side after datailing. i think it gets better looking of separate headrest.

mmm.... there's little different between normal one and modified one.

oh, well I have a question. what is this parts? not indicated on instluction sheet. and it's not to be used.what7s is this unique parts? flag? please tell me what this parts is. thanks.

Re: 1969 Camaro Convertible Project

You're off to a good start, great idea to separate the head rests.
The mystique part is the rear spoiler, the one that sits on the trunk like this.

Happy new year!

Re: 1969 Camaro Convertible Project

thnks for quickly reply.
thanks you too. We are in the 2006 now. 0:02 1.1.2006. let's celebration!(with Kool and the gang's song. lol

thank you. I decided to remove headrests because the fitting line is so loose. now I'm gonna add seat piping with stylen wire.

I see. thanks for good, cool pic!
yellow is also good... I like the antennas of 60's-70's cars. lol it's retro lookin'. latest japanese car manufactures trying to hide the antennas because it's avoid cars ' smooth body line. so I like retro, classic and heartbeating cars!!!

thank you so much!

That gives us guys in the US some perspective. We typically pay $10-$15 for US kits, and about $20-$30 for imported kits!
The `69 Camaro is one of my favorites too! I would like to restore a real one some day.

In order to save money and put out more kits in less time, sometimes similar kits will share parts trees that are for another version/year of that car, or even for another car entirely. If only a few parts are different, they won't make a tree for each individual kit.

For example, in the Tamiya Lancer Evo VI rally kit, they just cut the front and rear bumpers off the Evo V kit and put in a new raised suspension and gravel wheels and tires: Rather than make a new parts tree, they just left the original tarmac suspension pieces and wheels in the box (So with some new decals and some tires, maybe an Evo V kit as well, you could make a tarmac Evo VI and a gravel Evo V). In the Revell Camaro trans-am racers from the 90s, there are a whole bunch of parts on the trees which aren't used in those kits, but I have no idea which kits they are for.

I always hang on to those parts, because they may come in handy elsewhere.

Re: 1969 Camaro Convertible Project

I always draw(?) some future images of my project car. today, I have that too. this is the blue version future image. Le Mans Blue outside with stripes and White inside. I drew this one with only mouse. it was too hard. lol it's difficult to draw a picture with only mouse. I like drawing. I always draw car picture with pencil.

this gonna be cool.
and now, I'm planning add trunk lid career. I think it helps to make more classical looking of car.

seat datailing up has updated.
I added seat piping with burnt runner.
and added seat hinge(?) with stylen seat.
in my opinion, it was successful.

thankyou.
oh I've forgot to say A Happy New year.
have a nice year guys!
but, I was dumped..... man.....
