CRX turbo vs Lightning

So I'm driving my down a pretty long in-town highway just kinda spacing out, enjoying the scenery. When all of the sudden I look to my right and see a black Ford Lightning instigating a race. He gives it a very loud and powerful rev from his 5.4 liters of supercharged mayhem, I follow suit with a rev from my 1.8 liters of fuel economy goodness. So we both check for cops/other traffic and get ready for a race. He gives the honks and we both take off from out 50 mph roll. I downshift to 2nd then pretty much instantly to 3rd. He is gaining on me a tiny bit. At about 100mph he's got about a car and a half on me, we finally slow it down. I tell him to follow me, he knods. He follows me into a k-mart parking lot, and we both get out of our cars and have a little chit-chat about our cars. I ask him if he wants to go again. He agrees. I then open the hatch on my pocket-rocket and do something I hadn't done before the previous race, which was to crack open the bottle of n20 for my little motor to sip on. I look back at him, and notice a look of concern on his face.

So time for race number two. This time I would really like to see how it plays out from a dig. We are both driving around for a while and find ourselves a nice little red light. I give it a little purge and wait for that light to set my little sub-ton honda free. As it turns green we are both off. I am a little faster off the line and grab a half a car right away, as I notice his obvious traction issues. By the time I reach 80 I have about 5 cars on him, with no sign of him gaining. I give him the thumbs up,slow down, and turn off to go home.

Remote opener isnt really necessary for my CRX as the bottle is mounted well within arms-length, though it requires me to kind of take my eyes off the road. And no he wasn't really a dick. He was an older guy who didnt seem to like imports that much, judging from our little conversation.

And for those that were wondering, his mods consisted of: k&n intake, some type of cat-back exhaust, and some type of handheld tuner.

Re: CRX turbo vs Lightning

oh... well why didn't you just leave it a surprise and wait til you were in the car...? nvm it really doesn't matter, but i'm still curious as to why you would make it all so obvious to him he was about to get bent over and raped

I still don’t under stand the appeal of a high-power 2WD pickup, 4x4 shore that I can understand that, but other then burnouts what’s a high-power 2WD pickup good for?

Bet me some money, line up your caprice, and find out the hard way.
