d16z6 head on d15z1 block? possible YES or NO
ya so i read that if i put a d16z6 head on my vx (d15z1) block id have sumthin like a jdm d15b?? is there any truth to this?cuz the jdm d15b is roughly 130 HP and the us d15z1 (vx) is 92hp,and the us d16z6 is 125 hp,anyways i do have a spare d16z6 head and a p28 ecu and a blown d15z1 head...so would i gain anything by puting the z6 head on the d15z1 block? if so what timing belt do i use? what head gasket do i use? if anyone has done this swap or knows anything about it plz let me kno swappin out a head on a honda is very easy and a timing belt and h-gasket isnt that much money,so if you get more power then the vx id like to do it if possible, would u use a stock head gasket or one of those metal ones? well lemmy kno sum1 plz i only ask cuz this guy says its not possible "ATTEMPT THIS SWAP ON A CIVIC VX, THE PISTONS HAVE TOO LARGE OF A DISH AND THE COMPRESSION WILL END UP BEING TOO LOW"---- http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=554053
would i want low compression seeing how im using a j/r super charger n 3.8 pulley?? |

using this I found your comp ratio would sit at a retardedly low 7.66:1. If you ran P2P *Y8* pistons you'd get a 10.74:1 comp little high for boost but workable, z6 pistons would put you at little nicer *for FI pump gas* 10.34:1 still little high but a good tuner could get you to run it safely on 93. |
