Question Installing XM 01 Impala

I have a 2001 Impala LS with the 3800 and the california shifter. i recently got an SkiFi2 and was trying to find a way to mount it in the whole that is in front of the shifter, and still utilize the storage space. if anyone nows of any adapters or have ideas on how to make one or even better pictures of how it will look in the end that would be great

i know for sure how im going to go abouts mounting it but i only have a few concerns

The bracket that im making needs to be screwed to the top of the cubbie, and i want to run the antena wire and power cord from from back. the question that i have is there any wires on top of that plastic housing. or in the rear bottom side close to where the passengers feet would be. I was able to put my fingers from the back side and could not feel any but than again it did not feel like it should be the back of that plastic form. any ideas on how i could check the top or if people have personal knowledge in this. the screws that im going to use are only 1/2 tp 3/4 long and im only going to drill a hole big enough to push the end of the cord through

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Installing XM 01 Impala

Did the install yesterday, i ran a 14g wire from the battery through the firewall by the passenger feet, and wired in a universal cig lighter (the receiver required 6v) ran the ground from the driver side next to the hood release and hid the wire under the carpet placed the cig lighter plug behind the black cubbie and zip tied it to the plastic trim. had to drill a 3/8 hole in the back so i could get the plugs through. to mount the bracket i took the backing of the car kit off and placed numer 8 screw with a pushnut washer cone side up used a fender washer so it dont pull through. put the backing on with the screw coming through. placed another fender washer with pushnut ontop of the fender washer and used a wing nut so i could adjust it. put everything on a L-bracket and placed that on a a bunch of flat brackets and used velcro to mount it to the top. i will eventually find a way to see if there are any wires on top of that cubie and plan to bolt the thing up.
