whats the most power i can get from a d-series engine in a 1,700 budget
i really wish i could go b-series i really do,but unfortunitally i have a J/R supercharger,a stage 2 clutch and lightend flywheel from act n other stuff that will only fit on d-series,chipped p28,lsd ex tranny etc...anyways what should i do,what d-series engine should i go with so i can use all this stuff?i have a 93 civic vx n all this stuff was on it n the engine blew,i bought the car with most of this stuff on it everything cept the clutch,so i ask you guys? what engine should i go with for the most power and what can i do to it in my range,i have around a 1,700 $ range,i was hoping to be in the 400 hp range is that possible on a d-series should i go jdm? should i go with vtec or dohc?also i can buy a 88 acura integra engine for $100 bux umm i think the engine code is a d16a3 or it was d16a1...HP wise it would be more then what i had (d15z1 is 92 HP) but its a older engine i think its obd-0 also i was looking into the jdm engines from hmotorsonline.com but in there d-series it says 88-91 it doesnt say 92-95 for the years..please sum1 help me

You're not going to get 400whp with that budget, especially not with a supercharger. You want that kind of power; then you need to think about rods, pistons, sleeves, some head work, a turbo kit (could be a simple DIY), and a professional tune. All of that will be far more than you're willing to spend. Buy the d15b vtec and transmission, and have the engine rebuilt/balanced and blueprinted (could all fit in your budget if you know the right people). Then slap on the supercharger and try to be happy with the power you've got until you've got more $ to spend. |
