Fun Car For Daily Commuting
I'm not really into street racing that much, however, i am really interested in driving a car that gives a fun experience when driven daily for commuting and also handles well in the freeway. I'm still researching at the moment but i want to see whats out there for me. So any take on this? Price range..let's say less than 8k. (won't be driving that much when i go to college) Cars that i perefe would be sedans or coupes, as well as fuel efficient. Personally, i prefer import cars. Here's what i have in mind right now:

Where are you located? I would say that an older 3 series would be right up your alley, but if you suffer from poor traction winters, I would think it might not be best for you, considering it would be RWD. Other vehicles to consider would be some audis (your choice, you can find even 97 A8s for under 10k) if you do have poor winter driving. And, I would also suggest looking at 95-99 Maximas, which will be well within your price range.

Re: Fun Car For Daily Commuting
i live around the bay area, so it doesn't snow here. I've been considering the 3 series as well as the audi, but i believe that its not suitable for me, as my first official car since i dont know much about cars yet. I've also been trying to dig out some info and pictures about that gen of maximas but i just cant find it.

this site has some great general info on a variety of cars. BMWs are great cars to learn on. They will keep you interested and so long as you keep up on regular maintenance, they are remarkably reliable. |

Re: Fun Car For Daily Commuting
go with a max, if you know how to drive a stick, it will be perfect. i had one, and am looking for a 5th gen now.
the 4th gens are good. go to maxima.org and they have a complete list of specs on there for the cars. i can tell you know its about 190hp at the crank, high 20's mileage, one of the best engines ever made imho. it wont require much work. i used to own a 3rd gen and the most i did after 150+ is replace an alternator i test drove an e36 bmw, pretty nice ride, fun to drive, but theyre expensive to fix, a maxima is pretty cheap and used parts are easy to find too.
