Update on Clutch

Unfortunately guys, I ran into trouble getting one fringing bolt loosened and after three hours of trying to break it loose, I finally turned the job over to the dealership. I got everything out of the way except for one bolt connecting the transmission to the engine block.

After the job was completed, I talked with the mechanic and he said that he was cussing trying to get the bolt out himself. He said that he put a 1/2" wrench on it (should be a 13mm), but he said that made it fit a little tighter and pounded it with a hammer.

This was one of the things that I tried, but because the truck was on jack stands, there was limited room underneath the vehicle for swinging a hammer to get enough impact force.

This bolt is on the driver's side up about half-way on the transmission inside of a u-bracket. So, the u-bracket is in the way and the frame rail is about four inches away. Very limited room....

I did manage to take a few pictures of what I took off, but since the transmission was still in the vehicle, it probably won't be that helpful.

Sorry guys that I couldn't pull this off as I really wanted to complete this job.

Re: Update on Clutch

There's no space around these 4 cyl's. I just replaced all motor, tranny mounts on SIL's '95 Ranger. Unbelievably difficult.
