Re: battery cable
If the cable is in good shape, just replace the head.
Go to your local parts store - autozone, advanced, o'reillys, pep-boys - and pick up a replacment head and new felt washers - should be <$7. cut off the damaged end of the battery cable and strip back about 2" of the insulation - use a utilty or pocket knife. Attach new head to the stripped end of the cable and make sure it is tight and long enough to reach the battery. Clean the connectors on the battery using baking soda and water and a terminal cleaner or wire brush, rinse with plain water then apply a thin layer of vaseline after you attach the connectors. The baking soda and water neutralize the corrosion and the vaseline protects it from reoccuring. Hope this helps.

Re: battery cable
If you want a good long lasting repair replace the hole cable.
Only use the add on end for a emg. repair untill you can get the cable. Them add on ends are electrical system killers. They will cause bad connections that will damage charging system or even pcm problems. They will bit you in the rear sooner or later. Do it right. Replace the cable. MT
