door panel removal

I plan on putting new speakers into my 2001 Blazer LT. I am wondering if anyone knows any tips about removing the door panels to install the speakers? I can see it being a little tricky, and I just want to see if anyone has any warning or advice. Thanks.

Re: door panel removal

The best thing is to pick up a cheap door panel tool, less than $10 at most parts stores. It helps you from doing any damage to the panel.

Also, pick up a Haynes manual. A great tool to have around any time you're working on your truck.

Re: door panel removal

What kind of speakers are you putting in? I replaced my stocks with Cerwin Vegas, with the adjustable throw tweeter. I am very happy with them.

Re: door panel removal

First let me thank you for the advise on replacing pins and bushings on my 99 Blazer. My husband was able to do it wiith very little cursing. Now I need some advise on fixing the door panel on the front drivers side. The plastic pins that hold it in are bent and don't line up with the holes. I have to roll the window down and grab the door frame to close it without yanking the panel off.

Please help!!!

You can buy those plastic pins at any good auto parts store, replace the bent ones and your in business. vbmenu_register("postmenu_3791218", true);
