I have a center console question

I have an 03 silverado 1500 with a center jump seat, without the console. I want to buy a seat with a console but I'm trying to find out if I can just get the top piece and mount it on the jump seat that is already in there.

I went by the local chevy dealer and the parts department was very unhelpful... I think I woke the guy up when I walked around the corner, but he all but refused to look it up on the computer.

I'm just trying to find out if the mounting is possible, because I can see that the consoles mount on the sides of the center seat but the regular seat that's on there mounts by one rod in the back. If anyone knows I would really appreciate it.

No, you can't just buy the 'top' as you call it, that I'm aware of. It would not have a place to mount if you just put it on the jump seat. If you don't use the center seat, You should ideally take it out and throw in a solid console.

Yeah I thought about getting a solid console but I want to have the option of an extra seat if I need it, so I really like the idea of the fold down console.

I know you can buy the pieces seperately, and possibly have to... that's the one thing the parts guy actually told me.

It seems like it's possible that you would be able to mount a fold down on the bottom section of a regular jump seat. I just can't tell if the mount is low enough where both jump seats, and fold down consoles are the same. Anyway I just need to look at someone's fold down and see, but if anyone knows foer sure, let me know.
