Stroker

I thought about getting the stage 3 Slowboy Racing stroker kit. Thing is they say they are 2.3 L. My block is a 2.0 Would this mean I would have to get a new block or would I have to bore the engine out to fit it? How much would it really increase the power of my engine?

Re: Stroker

Well, the new crank in the stroker kit allows the piston to travel farther down, so there is more stroke. You will need to clearance parts of the block, but you can still use the stock one. I would suggest the stage 1, you would need a shit load of turbo to require a stage 3 IMO. You should be able to expect, IIRC, a 15% gain in power and a spool time 500-800rpms sooner.

Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order.

The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.
