Re: Spoon Crate Motors

Spoon crate motors = overpriced B&B junk.

Spoon parts suck and are horridly overpriced. No i'm not giving up my wheels but I will never get another spoon part.

If you're looking at a build up buying a already complete motor doesn't make sence.

But either way if you want to piss away 4+ grand on somthing I'd be happy to do for you for 2 and still feel like a crook at that price go to www.raretrick.com

www.inlinefour.com
http://www.spoonsports.us (insanely overpriced)
http://www.modacar.com/products/Acur...En/engine.html

But they are not worth the price IMO. All they are, are stock Honda parts that are balanced and blueprinted by Spoon (and a 2-ply head gasket, to raise compression a little). They don't come with Spoon camshafts, upgraded valvetrain, or higher compression pistons. All that (and only the long block) for $6,000. You could buy a stock block and build it for the same price or cheaper, and have it be faster. Just thought I'd throw that info out there, but it's your car and $.

Try NOT looknig for one... Some people would even get it just to brag about having a spoon engine. Please dont.

NO i wouldnt brag i was just asking because i was looking to do a k20 swap in either my 95 EG coupe or my 91 hatch. And i was told bc many have told me just to buy a b16 or b18 crate motor from spoon. I got the money to do about $10-$15k of engine work from now til june 06.

Re: Spoon Crate Motors

It's because most people don't know what the Spoon engines are. They assume it's all decked out with Spoon products and that it's fast, but it's not. It's actually made for endurance racing (road racing). If you have that kind of $, then a K-series will be a good idea.
