lifters

Got a 99 burb with 5.7. Are the lifters adjustable? Mine are starting to make noise.

Re: lifters

Do you or did you have a coolant leak?

No the lifters are not adjustable.

Re: lifters

I changed the intake gaskets about 2 years ago. I was thinking that also. I had to put coolant in about 2 weeks ago. But I thought that was from changing the water pump a couple months ago. I plan on keeping a eye on it. Could it be them gaskets again? I think they were victor gaskets. I got them from napa. Part number was NGA MS-16259. What ya think merlin? gaskets again? If so what kind should I replace them with. The lifters only make noise about the first 2 or 3 minutes then they quiet down. I am running a synthetic blend oil. It just did a oil change about 3000 miles ago. Thanks

Re: lifters

If this is happening at start up, quite possibly the lifters are bleeding down,
Watch the coolant level, you may be leaking at the intake again..this time it may be internally.

If oil pressure at start up is good, replace the lifters and that should take care of it.
Personally I like the GM or Felpro gaskets...also make sure they are torqued properly and Loctite the threads
