Anyone ever put a torque spliter in the GSX / Tsi AWDs?

The adjustable center torque spliters that come stock in an Sti sure would be nice to play around with in our Eclipses and Talons. Anyone know if this has been done in our cars before? And does anyone know the split ratio that is in these cars already, I'm guessing somewhere around 60 rear / 40 front.

Im pretty sure its a 50/50 split on our cars. Aleast thats what Kevin says

I always thought it was 60 front 40 rear and if you get a spool put in the center dif it puts it at 50/50 but I could be wrong. and I agree with inatalonIXLR8 that a adjustable center torque splitter would rock

wrong, its only a 50/50 split of you have the center diff welded...

or get a spool

since we have a viscous its not a set split until it locks. once it locks its 50/50. a welded center diff or a spool will also make it 50/50

This is correct, and this is my usual response as well. Think twice before calling "wrong" with such imagined authority

Its an open diff until there is enough slippage in the VC to heat the fluid enough to lock it. Once it is locked, it is a 50/50 split, unless there is a serious difference in traction and enough force to make the VC slip (towing by two wheels comes to mind).

A spool and similar devices will lock it at 50/50, so most people call it a 4wd instead of AWD at that point...
