HELP w/ 92 Stealth Transmission

I have a 92 Stealth that recently had the transmission go out on. It was just a regualar automatic tranmission with a SOHC engine.

I have a 2nd stealth with the same engine but has a 5 speed manual transmission. The only thing is the engine is blown on that one.

Would it be possible to swap the transmissions from one to the other. I have heard that i will have all sorts of electrical problems with the computer but i wasn't sure. Also if that is the case would i be able to swap the computers out as well to solve that problem.

OR would it just be easier to swap engines (and would it work easier).
PLEASE help me...i need my car working again lol

Re: HELP w/ 92 Stealth Transmission

Computers are no different between Auto and Manual. You will have to splice into a few wires to 1) Let the car start and 2) Make your back ups work. Also you need pedal assemblies, starter, flywheel, and probably some other stuff I forgot. Also if its a 93 the tranny is coming from then you need to swap out the axles too. I beleive there is a write up in the FAQ.

Re: HELP w/ 92 Stealth Transmission

for that matter, why not just switch the engines... Idk, it seems more reasonable to me, b/c u're gonna have to put in the master cylinder (cut fenderwell and all that bs)... and all the linkage, and it seems like more hassle to do that then switch the engines...
I've never switched out an engine... but I've pulled a tranny... it seems like a helluva lotta work to do the conversion... but that's up to you my friend.... good luck and keep us posted
