You can take off the positive battery cable for 30 seconds, that will clear the memory. But if the SES light came on, that means the ECM has found a problem with the engine or emissions. The light will come right back on if the problem is not corrected. Once corrected the light will go out after it has passed 2 drive cycles. I would not clear if I where you, because the ECM has stored the history of the fault. Erasing the ECM's memory is not good for troubleshooting.
