Re: GT heads off!!! COBRA heads on!!!
Its not worth it. there is a ton of work that would go into it. It is possible but its more cost effective to buy a cobra motor and put it in your GT. And by that point its likely more cost effective to sell your GT and buy a cobra. If you want power I would suggest a supercharger in my opinion.

Re: GT heads off!!! COBRA heads on!!!
NO matter what you buy you need to get the car tuned.
unless you only run bolt-ons. if you run anything more then bolt-ons with out a propertune then you shouldnt have a car because it is teh tuning that keeps the car from destroying itself. Start: headers, exhaust, UDP, coil/plugwires, intake, heads and intake mani, cams, SCT. After that if you still want power look into a SC. Good power is not cheap.

Re: GT heads off!!! COBRA heads on!!!
It really won't work without major work. Even most of the cooling system will have to be rerouted so its not as simple as what you were told by the guy selling the parts. A 3V conversion would be easier but both will require a new tune.

Re: GT heads off!!! COBRA heads on!!!
Going supercharged dosn't really mean that you need any work done to your heads. The PI heads on your motor are actually fairly decent. Most people with 96-98 do headswaps and put the heads from your mustang on. If your goal is to go all motor than honestly you are going to do more work and spend more. Again, just my opinion but supercharging is the best all around way to make power out of these cars. There are tons of kits out there ready to put on your car. This is one situation that I would definately recomend doing something that has been done time and time again. I will be a big fan of yours if you do that exotic headswap, but there is a reason for that.

Re: GT heads off!!! COBRA heads on!!!
If you think you can make serious power out of a 4.6 without as much tuning as a 5.0............
nevermind..

Thanks alot for the feedback!!!!!! especially BLACKGT2000 I'am going to take your advice with the supercharger.I did some other research on the swap with the heads (NIGHTMARE).I was told that the heads on my 02 will be fine when I supercharge....just like gt2000 said..I'am gonna start with some bolt on's. if you have any ideas for me please give them....I did notice that altecZX2 gave me some ideas (thank you) I see svtcobra306 is really cool to let me in on how fast his 94/95 is,WOW!!!!!!!! without no help. (thanks for nothing)and 01L2cobra thanks for your input its helpfull on making my decision......

Yeah I thought maybe a supercharger was what you were looking for.

Re: GT heads off!!! COBRA heads on!!!
I simply decided not to go in depth with my answer, it appears it was a good decision because it is falling upon deaf ears.
My point is a 4.6 supercharged requires every bit as much tuning to make big power as a 5.0 with a power adder, especially being OBDII. You'll spend a small fortune trying to make "big power" (I'm assuming you're looking for over 500 since that's where most of the really finicky tuning issues come in on a 95 GT) out of an N/A car that only displaces 281 cubic inches. If you don't want tuning drama, drop in a 514 with a single race demon on it and a rather large cam with Cobra Jet heads. That'll make big power without much tuning...but a 4.6 won't. If you aren't willing to spend some dyno time on a good tune then why are you willing to do a 2V-4V swap? Oh, and BTW I don't have any times in my sig so how the hell am I telling everyone how fast my car is?????

I read an article awile back in 5.0 MM&FF, I think, and they said the 4V heads will bolt right up to the 4.6L block regardless. Now, your new space constraints will be horrible and you'll have to get a lot of new stuff like intake, exhaust, wiring harnesses, etc. for these new heads. I agree with just about everyone else, supercharging will probably be the most cost-effective power adder besides nitrous. Turbos are very effiecient, but much more complicated to install in a V8. Again, the bolt-on route will be your best bet and probably the most popular bolt-on firsts are cat-back exhaust system, cold-air induction, and a chip or programmer for the computer. From there you could rebuild your rear end and put some steeper gears (3.73s or 4.10s) and a nicer posi unit for some mean acceleration. Radial drag tires and/or wheels will help keep more power to the road. Suspension mods will help your new tires offer more bite. There is no end to what you can do to your car, of course depending on how much you have/want to spend. Good luck with your 'Stang.
