k24 sohc truck motor in a 240???

I need some help from the experts out there. My 89 240sx has a blown motor. KA24e sohc. A guy has same motor in a wrecked pickup he'll part with cheap. Is this the same engine as what I have in the 240?
Thanks

Get an engine that doesn't suck.

Well- I just want to get this car from hell back on the road as cheap as I can. Don't want to spend thousands on this thing.

Re: k24 sohc truck motor in a 240???

the ka24e is older so you'll have less of a chance of finding a decent one.. but if you find a ka24de then you'll need other parts that the e doesn't have.. either way you'll have to do some work here and i'd say the de is a better deal. you won't find that much of a price difference in the engines.. maybe $100-$200..
