97 V6 Rough Idle and Questions

I have a 97 V6 automatic that I have a few questions about. My truck seems to idle rough when it is in gear , either forward or reverse, but it is ok in park or neutral. I have cleaned the throttle body and the air filter is a new K&N filter, but the engine still seems to idle a little rough. Any suggestions.

I have read in a couple of forums and posts about resetting the PCM by unplugging the 3 plugs for 10-15 minutes to reset the learned parameters, but I haven't done this as of yet. Any suggestion about this?

I also noticed that the truck seems to take quite a while to warm up and I have noticed that the radiater fan is always turning no matter what, is this normal or could the fan clutch be bad?

I have searched and read all sorts of posts and I am just trying to get some info on what might work best.

Anyone ever hear of a mod where to you remove the original airbox snout/trunk and make the hole bigger to allow for more air to flow to the filter box? I have read that this can help to increase gas mileage but may reduce HP a bit on the downside? Any thoughts?

Thx for any help and suggestions.

Have you checked for trouble codes? I think you can still extract the codes by turning the ignition on/off (without starting the engine) 3 times... leave it in the on position the third time. The check engine lite will flash the trouble code if any. There are quite a few codes that don't illuminate the "check engine".

The fan has a viscous clutch and will turn with the engine... should not free-wheel with the engine off and turned by hand. As far as the rough idle, you might try some of the easy stuff first like cleaning the injectors.
