Unhappy 70 AAR Cuda finished!

well its done but i must say this is the worst kit i have ever put together, nothing and i mean nothing fit together. the frame liiks to be for a 1/25th scale car when the body is 1/24th scale. in the motor pitcure you will see an ugly glue mark thats hot glue because i ran out fo glue at the last moment and did not want this model on my desk a second longer so i jacked the girls glue gun and got er done. the windows did not fit at all, it seems there too big. the hood dont fit. but ohh well its done and looks decent, needs touch up painting under the hood though.

and my favorite picture.

Well, calling the Revell AAR 'Cuda a "Cuda" is a bit of a stretch considering how absolutely WRONG the body proportions are.

Seriously, folks, the Revell 1970 'Cuda was based heavily (and inaccurately) off of the Monogram 1970 Challenger T/A kit (hence why the T/A hoodscoop is on the tree) and as such the body was basically a Challenger with a 'Cuda grille.

Oops.

Most folks, when they want a good 1970 'Cuda, will take the grille, bumpers, and hood from the Revell AAR kit and transplant them to the 1971 HemiCuda kit (which, oddly enough, is a wholly different tool). It's a lot of work, but if you absolutely have to have a passable 1970 'Cuda in 1/24th scale it's really the only way to go about it.

A better (and easier) idea, though, is to go 1/25th and find a Johan 'Cuda kit, then use the AMT 1970 Challenger chassis underneath the Johan body.
