96 LHS; no oil registering on dip stick

I changed my oil sending unit because my dash oil light was out and I believe it was leaking. Replaced oil filter and filled w/5.5qt oil. Started car it ran fine, turn car off waited 2-8 minutes. Dip stick initially show no oil, after several minutes it showed the car was 4qt low.

Also prior to changing the sending unit I was advised to check the drain holes located at the bottom of engine head. There was no visible sign of slug or debrie. I even poured oil over the valves and witness the oil drain out of the head. Please help.

Re: 96 LHS; no oil registering on dip stick

Did you check both sides of the dipstick or just one side? Sometimes one side of the dipstick will say low or no oil at all and then on the other side it will say that it's full, just a suggestion.
