help with GM wiring to aftermarket stereo wiring.
link to the main thread in car audio
i just though it might get a few bites here from my fellow OLDS guys this is for a kenwood cd player (kdc-205) and is using a metra harness to connect my stock gm wires from the car to the aftermarket radio. the metra harness that connects to the gm harness has 2 wires that go to my aftermarket stereo (an orange illumination wire and an orange dimmer wire) in thinking these 2 would connect as they are both orange and thers no where else for them to go.

Re: help with GM wiring to aftermarket stereo wiring.
depends on the model and year of the car....if it is older, just put some caps on the end of the two wires and crimp them.
NOTE!!--do not crimp them together, as one is an output, and one is input, so you will see lots of sparks when you decide to turn it on. if you have the orange wire on the metra harness, then connect the dimmer wire, as it is the only one in a olds. hope that helps. i miss installing car audio..hmm.. oh well....
