Aftermarket Gauges

Im getting some new gauges to put in my car. An Air/Fuel Ratio gauge, a Voltage Gauge and either a Transmission temp gauge or an oil temp gauge. Anyone at all installed any of these? Just curious as to how difficult it will be. If its something that requires taking shit apart im just gonna forget about it. When i take things apart they have a tendenct to not go back together. Trans temp gauge will require that you install a sensor. In order to do that you have to put a hole in the bottom cover. I don't know if you could use a tranny cooler and use that to monitor the oil temp?

So your still doing this Gooman18 ? Are you puting them in the pillar?
I thought the trans in our GA's had somewhere for a sensor in the side, not exactly sure. If someone knows for sure please let us know.
But the pan would be the easiest, and safest. Would require the pan removed, a little messy but not to difficult. I put a drain plug in my pan to keep the mess down when changing fluid/filters.

As for the air ratio theirs and extra vacum on the intake by the power steering pump. I'm not sure where you want the voltage reading from, alt or battery? They should come with a little bit of direction, also ask the guys(or gals) at the auto parts store. Ya some know nothing about anything, but some do.
On a scale from 1-5 this mod would be a 2. the most difficult part is getting the wires/stuff through the gromets in the firewall. Try a coathanger with the end bentover, poke it through from inside the car out and find the end. acttach the wires to the hanger with tape(reallygood) and pull it into the car. See that wasnt that tuff, lol!
Oh ya disconnect that battery BEFORE you poke or pull anyting, better safe than sorry. If you hav more questions let me know.

well first i would ask, what performance mods you have to feel that you need to keep an eye on you A/F ratio.

Thanks for the reply guys. Ive been MIA for a while. I really havent done any performance mods yet. As queer as it sounds its simply cosmetic right now. And i figure i have a few $$$ left over to spend and its definitely going in the car.

Yes XI, im still pursuing this and yes its going to go in the A-Pillar from PFYC. As far as the voltage im not sure whether to go with the Alt. or the battery.

Ill let you guys know what i come up with.

Any more advice is appreciated.

Well if you have no mods, then this will be a waste of money, if you want some lighted objects in the car, then buy some neons or something. Not to mention you will need more then just the gauges to have everything work the way it should.
