change hub assembly
i am changing my front hub assembly and i was wondering if anyone knows what size socket i need to use to get the spindle locknut off

36mm. When completed be sure to properly torque the axle nut to specs provided by the hub manufacturer. GM specifies 151 ft-lbs for OEM hubs but I've seen it as high as 180 ft-lbs with aftermarket. Also, it is recommended to use a new axle nut. Good luck!

Also, don't use an impact wrench, the hammering will ruin the ABS sensor, and you'll be doing it again soon.
