z31 stock wheel/tire upgrade
My 1984 300 zx has stock wheels that I would like to keep. I would however like to add a 16" tire. Something that looks wide with the low profile. I know I can go to the tire dealer and get a spill on this is the BEST tire but has anyone placed a 16" tire on those rims and is it possible plus how is the ride - smooth or horse and buggy - lol

Re: z31 stock wheel/tire upgrade
check out this for all the spacing requirements for the rims... if you want to get new rims i'd suggest folling the guide on there... you can't put 16" tires on a 15" rim however... if you want your speedo and such to stay the same you have to keep the same overall diameter...
if you're upgrading wheels to 16" i'd recommend going with 225/50/zr16 on the front and 245/45/zr16 on the rear... that will give you some nice wide tires in the rear and should improve the handling of the car quite a bit provided you get good tires.. i'm not up on the latest and greatest tires out there but a while ago the best bang for the buck was the nitto n555's but i've heard the fuzion zr-i's are good and cheap... someone else could probably tell you better tho..
