Any Feedback will be greatly appreciated....

Hey guys, I was thinking of buying a 1999 3000GT, just curious about the car. I liked them since I first saw them, but I recently caught a glimpse of a 1999, and I liked the new look, really hadn't seen one all these years. I like the big mouth they've got.
What can you guys tell me about the reliability of the cars?

I've worked on a VR4 and those are out of the question, they are hell on wheels to work on, and heaven on wheels to drive, so I'm going for the N/A.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Any Feedback will be greatly appreciated....

they're pretty decent in reliability but it all just depends on how the previous owners treated it... a big thing is the 60k maintenance, make sure it was done (if needed)... when you say n/a do you mean the SOHC or DOHC engine???? aka base or SL model??? generally they're both about the same, but if need be you can put 87 octane in the SOHC and it'll take it easier than the DOHC engine, although I really don't recommend it...

The SOHC is supposed to run on 87. Running higher octane will do nothing for the SOHC.

Re: Any Feedback will be greatly appreciated....

Sorry, should have read the FAQ.

Anyway, I saw a 99GT with a stock bumper and the only addition were these two lips which suprisingly made the car look even better, but the problem they cost like 300 bucks for two small pieces of fiber glass. Anyway, I'm looking at my options. Thanks for the replies guys. If I can work out a deal, I'll post some pics.
