ok, the only intake i can seem to find for the QG18DE is the hotshot performance one. i noticed that AEM has intakes for sentras, but not the 1.8 is it possible to put an intake that is for a 2.0 on a 1.8?

Re: aem cai

Most likely. But I'd go with the JWT pop-charger anyway. Great filter housing design.

I used to have a short ram, and there was a small problem,
especially when I was in TX.
during summer time, if I let the car idel under the sun for 20 minutes,
then when I open the hood, pretty much "everything" inside
were too hot to touch....rubbers, plastics, not to mention metals

I guess it's the ram that's sucking hot air, creating higher temp,
then again it's sucking hotter air back over and over.....

That doesn't make any sense. Why would it be sucking the same air over and over? The engine uses the air the intake sucks in. A short-ram wouldn't make your engine bay any hotter than a stock airbox.

The simple answer is this:

Short-ram = smoother power band, power increase throughout rpms
CAI = slightly more power than short-ram, power loss at low rpms.

lol...sorry I wasn't clear enough.
what I mean is, when the car idels for a while,
the engine bay gets hot,
then the short ram sucks the hot air from the engine bay.
When the engine sucks in hot air, the temp underhood rises.
then the ram sucks in even hotter air.....

that process go on over and over.
the fan runs, but it doesn't really help - because it's also blowing
hot air from the radiator.
