99 stratus check engine light.
Light came on the other day. I noticed car seems to have slightly less power now. Was never overpowered though! Anyhow I have cycled the key switch to on, off, on, off, on and no codes are thrown. Where should I look? Without a code I am usure what the light means. Thanks Joe. Also is my procedure to procure the code correct? Thanks

Check the alernater as well, while you are at autozone, tell them to do a load test on the car.

Re: 99 stratus check engine light.
You need to go to a parts house and have them read the codes, or take it to the dealer. If you know somebody that has an obdII code reader, they can read the codes as well. In my experience, if it was the alternator, your charging light would be on as well - but it never hurts to have it checked.
Unfortunately beginning with the 1998 model year, dodge removed the ability to read the coded through cycling the key, forcing us to take it somewhere to have the codes read. Let us know what you find out.
