Nope never always Flat-6 or a 4cyc in the very first ones. The 911 don't need a V8 in them.

The only Porsche that has had a V8 in it would be the 928 series cars. 911s have always had six-cylinder engines and always will.

'cause you were right Seb there aren't 911 with V8s (maybe some guy near the azz of the world swaped a V8 into a 911).
But anyway why put a V8 into a 911 when we have a 928 GTS or even the S4 IMO they are both awesome

Since 4 cyl Porsches were brought up....

....let's not forget the 914, 924, 944, and 968.

Me, personally, I am partial to the 911 Turbo and the 928 GTS.

Once again....Speaking of four cylinder Porsches...

Don't forget about the 904 GTS! That's a racing model.....And how about the 356!? Don't forget what started Porsche out in the first place! Actually, the 904 isn't alone, because many racing cars in Porsche's early history used 356 4 cylinders....550, 718, blah, blah, blah.

Porsche's n Engines

Porsches that were watercooled were the 924, 944 and 928 series.
All other models were air-cooled 4 or 6 cylinder. The 911 series was an opposed air-cooled 6!
They also came with one or two turbo's whether street model or racing.

Before anyone starts jumping on me about the water-cooled 951's or 968's...they are based off the 944 model w/4-cyl engine.

Now...for those in the know!
Was the 914 a 4 or 6 cylinder engine and how many seats?

Infact, how many Porsche models are only 2 seaters?

Answers in alittle while....
